Sage Waters returns in Q3 of 2024.

Privacy Policy

Who we are

The website address is: https://sagewaters.com. It sells the work of one Sage Water. All of the comments below apply to the content of this site and this site alone. Other domains and subdomains may have different policies altogether.

Newsletter

When you sign up for our newsletter, your name and email are saved to our subscription service application. On our servers. Your information is not shared with or sold to third parties. When signing up for the newsletter you’re agreeing to receive emails from Sage and only Sage. Emails which will likely be fairly infrequent given his disdain for electronic mail as a whole.

Analytics

This site doesn't make use of analytics. Even were he inclined to, Sage can't track you. He will only know who, what, and where you are if you tell him.

Comments & Contact Form

There are no comment forms, as no one around here has the time to moderate them. That said, if and when visitors fill out the contact form on the site the data provided is couriered through a couple of different pathways to land in Sage's inbox, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help with spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. If you sport such an account, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Cookie Facts

Once again: This site is cookie-free.

We don’t track visitors or non-logged-in users. View any page you like without fear that someone is looking over your shoulder.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

This site avoids excessive embeds for just this reason. That said, any and all YouTube videos will likely try to track you with one of their cookies, and can’t be avoided. (Note: YouTube is part of Google’s army of products, and should be treated with the same discernment as its owner.)

Who we share your data with

No one.

And we don’t save credit card data at all. Payment processing is handled by either Stripe or PayPal, depending on your preference at time of checkout. They store that data. We can see your name, address, number, email, and any other billing information you supplied, but we can’t see your debit or credit card info.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

Members, Patrons, commenters, and/or anyone who buys an item, fills out a form, or subscribes to the newsletter will likely have their data filtered through a few systems. That is just the nature of the internet. For our part, we use encrypted services to funnel info from the site to an external database and/or processor like Stripe.

GDPR Adherence

This site abides by the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation – a regulation in EU law concerning data protection and privacy in the EU and the EEA (European Economic Area). While this isn’t an endorsement of the European Union itself, which could do with adding a few more pillars to its existing three, we find the spirit of the law sound: Increased transparency. As such, the primary site is cookie-free.

Hence the lack of annoying GDPR-based “Do you agree?” pop-ups.
